My Approach
My diverse client portfolio includes individuals in leadership or management positions in varied industries and organisations. All came to coaching to develop and grow in their roles and find my sessions a facilitated opportunity for self-reflection and learning. They welcome the chance to clarify their thinking about career and professional goals and to identify and address what needs to change for those goals to be achieved.
In a hectic world of constant change, coaching offers time to think and a supportive space in which to do it.

Coaching
Credentials
In 2021 I qualified as a business coach with Meyler Campbell, widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading training providers. Background on the Meyler Campbell “Mastered” programme can be found here. The programme is accredited by the Association for Coaching. As a coach, my practice complies with the Code of Ethics of the Association for Coaching and European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).
My approach to coaching is pragmatic and outcome-oriented. I am able to draw on a range of models and techniques, but always with a focus on the client’s unique situation and the whole-person. In addition to the organisational and human insight gained in the course of my rich professional and career history, I try to bring to coaching an engaging blend of warmth and humour. I see each coaching relationship as a partnership.
I have a coach supervisor and also further my continuous professional development through membership of the Institute of Coaching.

About Me
After 10 years teaching history at Oxford University, including 5 years as a Tutorial Fellow of St Peter’s College, I joined the British Foreign Office. Over the next two decades, I served as a diplomat in Europe and the Middle East and held senior management and Whitehall policy roles, including 2 years on the Board as HR Director.

In 2013 I retired from government service and joined the international insurance company AIG, where I have held a range of roles advising the firm’s global leadership, including Chief of Staff to the CEO in New York, Head of Communications and Public Affairs EMEA, and (currently) Head of International Public Policy. I am also an Advisor to Wallbrook, a leading due diligence provider, and a member of the Advisory Board of RUSI, a defence and security think tank.

I have 25 years experience of mentoring, leadership development and talent management at senior level in both public and private sectors. Operating in diverse organisational contexts and across international cultural boundaries, I have developed high-performing teams and helped many talented individuals realise their leadership potential.
